I love the blue and the purple hyrdgnaeas, too. I've heard it has something to do with how acid or alkaline the soil is, but not sure which produces which! When I lived in an apartment with three cats, my husband and I used to grow something called "cat grass" for them--they loved to chew on it, and supposedly it was good for them :)
