This is the crazy story of Western Kentucky University professor John All, an American climate scientist who fell into a 70-foot (21m) crevasse on Mount Himlung in the Himalayas.
Stunningly, he managed to get out of the crevasse by himself despite a broken arm, broken ribs, and a dislocated shoulder after 6 hours of ice climbing.
It took him 3 more hours to get back to his camp, then he wrote on Facebook that he needed assistance. He only got rescued the day after by helicopter because of bad weather.
He was alone all night and thought he would die.
