After the completion of a Nazi warship in 1936, shipbuilder August Landmesser defiantly crossed his arms in protest as the others around him saluted. His partner, a Jewish woman named Irma Eckler, would eventually be sent to a concentration camp, while Landmesser was forced into military service. He later went missing in action and is believed to have been killed in combat.

#28 It's a punt gun, designed to kill many ducks and geese in one shot. It was mounted on a small low lying boat (a punt) so the operator could silently close in on a flock of ducks or geese and kill as many as possible. Banned in the US by 1900, there are still some in the UK. Why are they posing like that? A joke most likely.
