British Army’s SAS (Special Air Service) Are Now Training In Boba Fett’s Helmets (22 pics + 1 gif)

1

One the most elite Special Forces units on Earth comes the UK…

2

…but they’re training with a new helmet that resembles a Galaxy Far Far Away.

3

The British Army’s SAS (Special Air Service) unit is similar to America’s SEAL “Team Six” / 1st SFOD-D “Delta Force”.

4

These SAS bad-boys are putting the new Devtac “Ronin” Kevlar Tactical Ballistic Helmet to the test.

5

Its features are awesome; earning it the nickname “Boba Fett” helmet.

6

Let’s begin with the “friend or foe” technology.

7

The internal computer can pick-up signals from the helmets of “friendly” forces AND using heat-seeking technology, it can also detect “foe” enemy personal.

8

The “friend or foe” vision mode will project this information onto the visor.

9

That’s just one of the vision modes.

10

In addition, there is an infrared setting to see at night.

11

Finally, the internal GPS can project maps too.

12

There is an air-conditioning unit that not only keeps the soldier cool…

13

…it also works to defog the wide peripheral vision.

14

The helmet can be fitted with multiple detachable plates for added protection.

15

Multiple configurations above.

16

How strong is the head protection?

17

It can take multiple bullet hits from an AK47 and Devtac claims…

18

…this helmets strong enough to take a shot from a Magnum 44 round. (I wouldn’t want to test that one out)

19

This is the newest version of the helmet.

20

Our own Special Forces (SEALs/“Delta) units have been using Devtac helmets for a few years.

21

Military source: “The helmet, already being used by special forces, is much more versatile than just stopping bullets.”

22

Military source: “It is fitted with the latest communications technology and will help the soldier see the enemy no matter what the circumstances.”

23

There ya have it…the “Boba Fett” helmet.
