The Most Iconic Falls in Movie History and What They’d Cost You in Real Life

When we watch movies in front of the television or computer, the fall of characters in action scenes causes us to hold our breath. Such visuals leave tension and dramatic effects on the viewers. After these falls in movies, characters can get up and go on with their lives as if nothing had happened, but in real life, when this happens, it can cost people a lot of money. But of course, when you think about the medical costs, the legal processes or the complexities of these falls, audiences can become quite detached from the movie. So what do you think the real-life equivalent of these movie falls would be?

Woody from Toy Story

The Fall of Jack and Rose - Titanic (1997)

In James Cameron's haunting movie Titanic, the ship begins to capsize and panic grips all passengers and crew. Jack is trying to keep Roza safe at this time and they are having a hard time in this chaos. But Jack and Ros, who cannot withstand the instability of the ship, lose their balance and slip and fall from the very slippery surface of the ship. If such a problem had occurred in real life, individuals could have faced consequences such as orthopedic injuries, head traumas, and waist and back injuries. What about you? Do you think Rose should have consulted a Chicago slip and fall lawyer about the slippery deck floor after she survived the crash? She would’ve gotten great compensation if she consulted a lawyer, that’s for sure.

Woody's Fall - Toy Story (1995)

In the movie Toy Story, when the character Woody's human friend comes home and sees that his toy is broken, he throws Woody and he falls to the ground, which is actually a very emotional but at the same time funny situation in the history of cinema. If Woody hadn't been a toy, his medical costs would have been quite high and he could have paid as much as $30,000 to the hospital.

The Fall of Peter Parker - Spider-Man (2002)

We all see in movies how strong and durable superheroes are. In the Spiderman movie directed by Sam Raimi, even if Peter Parker does not fall, it is shown as if nothing happened. If any person faces such a situation in real life, he may face spinal injuries. Since spinal injuries are among the most serious injuries, it is possible to face a bill of 50,000 dollars in the hospital.

Fall from the Bell Tower - Vertigo (1958)

One of Hitchcock's iconic films, Vertigo is a great example of how fear and tension can be conveyed to the audience in cinema. When the ambiance of the movie is combined with Hitchcock's direction, it is quite easy to give people that tense feeling in the movie. But if anyone had experienced such a fall in real life, they would have many broken bones, and perhaps these broken bones could have damaged their internal organs, or the internal organs damaged by the fall, other than the bones, could have failed in a short time. It is quite possible that a bill of 100,000 dollars would be needed to recover from such a fall.
