This is why I don't get his later cubist style, he had mastered his craft at such an early age but then decided to start breaking things down to random and distorted shapes. I realize people do love his later work but I simply don't understand why his work seems to get more simple as he progresses. It's just not for me...

Florence, When I was in eighth grade there was a kid in my class that was truly an amazing artist - he obviously was born with that gift. While the rest of us were drawing primitive cave man cars he'd be drawing a '67 Camaro from the front angle and it looked real. There are many artists who can paint what they see and make it look real (#6) but Picasso once said "I paint objects as I think them, not as I see them." Whatever was going on in his brain made his art appealing to us (most of us anyway). He had a very unique style that set him apart from other artists.
