Atomic weapons have never solved anything... oh, except that it prevented the need for the allies to invade mainland Japan and saved over a million lives.

A war is only over when one side loses its will to fight. In 20th century history, there's no better case study than this one.

...to be a liberal in 2011 with no context of what Japan was doing around the world in its conquest to quite literally take over the world, complete with its massacres of innocent civilians, and try to paint the US as the bad guys. However, the reality is that Japan was never going to surrender and would continue its killing of people around the world. Thankfully, America dropped two bombs and brought their bloody reign of terror to a quick end. That's history.

For some reason, liberal children like the few posting above are never bothered, seemingly, by the firebombing the U.S. had already done to Tokyo, Hamburg and Dresden. Entire cities burned to ash, just like in the pics above. Many thousands melted into pavement, just like in the pics above. Many more scarred for life, just like in the pics above. But somehow, the idea of just one bomb doing the job -- instead of dozens of incendiary-loaded planes giving essentially the same result -- is worthy of going on 70 years worth of outrage for them. Puzzling.

japan was no different than germany. they started the wars they killed millions of innocent civilians. they would have used the bomb on the allies if they had it first.
anyone who feels sympathy for the germans or japanese in ww2 has no idea of the conflict.
