Several years ago Emma O’Neil was so thin and feeble that she couldn’t lie on a bed without getting bruised. The girl weighed less than 20 kilos (42lbs)…
Emma developed eating disorder at the age of 14. She became obsessed with a desire to know “how thin she could get.” The sporty and fit teenager lost 25 kilos and turned into a living skeleton with skin so fragile that her own bones could hurt it. Emma was placed in hospital but she refused to be treated. The girl considered herself absolutely normal and was pulling out feeding tubes.
Emma realized how ill she was when she once collapsed on a road crossing. The girl was too weak to move and was nearly run over. After that Emma began to accept medical treatment. It took her about eight years to become healthy again, and now she weighs 50 kilos (112lbs).
