Pumps in U.S. have safety systems so that doesn't happen, like the hoses pop off when pulled, and the fuel is not pressurized in the lines, each pump sucks the fuel into your tank and kicks off when no nozzle is present.

your terminology is wrong. pumps push, they don't suck. the nozzle is on the end of the hose, it is always present
