Ever since a buddy of mine got ejected at 60 mph from a Subaru rollover in Sacramento back in 1990 (we were early 20's), I have worn a seatbelt every single time I have been in a moving vehicle. Seeing him not able to speak, feed himself, or remember most people, and wearing a diaper was enough to scar me for life.

Taxi drivers are exempt of wearing them.

Not in my country, taxi drivers and passengers not wearing them will be fined.

in most western countries, seat belts should be mandatory for taxi drivers. You can see in most of the videos: with seat belt on, you still have a chance to control the verhicle. Without, you might be ejected leaving passengers at higher risk.
