Farting in your wetsuit is ill advised, as it messes with your front to back buoyancy.
And it waits in there, lurking, and loitering until you unzip your suit back on the boat where all the chicks are and they think you have sewage breath.

It affects your buoyancy about 1/10 the amount that breathing in/out does, so not much. It might hang around if you're in a drysuit, but since it was part of your original body gas percentage anyway, it being outside of your body and still n the suit changes nothing. Might smell, though...
