This summer is not the best to find short interesting news for the Curiosities (
A chihuahua named Smokey wandered around with a fork stuck deep in his head for three days!
A handle broke off a grilling fork and flew right into his head at a family party in Kentucky.
Smokey then ran off into the woods and was lost for three days before being rescued. He was immediately taken to the hospital.
Vets took just thirty seconds to remove the lodged barbecue fork in Smokey’s brain.
The dog is expected to make a full recovery.

They got married in 2006. But the most interesting thing about them is that recently her husband has been arrested for drug possession.
Malaysian laws are very strict about drugs. Now it is unclear whether the husband will see his wife when he is released from prison)

It’s easy to work these days since the weather is not that great. Here in West of France we had some rains, it’s not that hot anymore. But I hope that this weekend it will be hot so it would be possible to go on the beach :))))))

To ensure that employees at Keihin Electric Express Railway in Japan are putting their best lip forward, the company has implemented a "smile check" policy, in which workers will be required to smile into a camera and have their mug subjected to software analysis of their happiness.

Imagine if you could look at something once and remember it forever.
The group of scientists was studying a poorly-understood region of the visual cortex.
The researchers concluded that this region of the visual cortex, known as layer six of region V2, is responsible for creating visual memories. They found that if they boosted production of a protein called RGS-14 (pictured) in that area of the visual cortex in mice, it dramatically affected the animals' ability to remember objects they had seen.
What's particularly intriguing is the fact that this protein works on visual memory only. So, it would be perfect for mapping. It would also be useful for engineers and architects who need to hold a lot of visual images in their minds at once. And it would also be a great drug for detectives and spies.
An astonished mother has told how she gave birth to conjoined twins despite being told by medics she was expecting two normal babies.
Scans and ultrasound tests had failed to pick up that the babies were joined at the waist, forming one long body with a head at each end.
Doctors in Xiaogan, eastern China, have so far been unable to say even what sex the tots are as they have been born without any external sexual organs.
The commanding officer of a regiment in the U.S. Marine Corps was about to start the morning briefing to his staff, battalion and company commanders.
While waiting for the coffee machine to finish its brewing, the colonel decided to pose a question to all assembled.
He explained that his wife had been a bit frisky the night before and he failed to get his usual amount of sound sleep.
He posed the question of just how much of sex was ‘work’ and how much of it was ‘pleasure?’
The regimental executive officer chimed in with 75-25% in favor of work.
A captain said it was 50-50%.
The colonel’s aide responded with 75-25% in favor of pleasure, depending on his state of inebriation at the time.
There being no consensus, the colonel turned to the private who was in charge of making the coffee. What was HIS opinion?
Without any hesitation, the young PFC responded, ‘Sir, it has to be 100% pleasure.’
The colonel was surprised and, as you might guess, asked why?
‘Well, sir, if there was any work involved, the officers would have me doing it for them.’
The room fell silent.

The first working days have passed very quickly. Today it’s Wednesday, which means that Friday is not far away :)
The most important news of yesterday was, of course, the funeral of Michael Jackson which was turned into a show.
First, the burial ceremony of the singer took place at the cemetery Forest Lawn and then was held a farewell concert with the participation of world stars in Staples Center.
More than a million fans of the pop idol arrived in Los Angeles, but only the 20,000 persons who managed to buy tickets could see all this on live.

“Why didn’t you ever come to see me again?” asked the psychiatrist.
“For a hundred bucks a visit? A bartender cured me for $10.”
“Is that so! How?”
“He told me to cut the legs off the bed! Ain’t nobody under there now!!!
I recently asked my friends' little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be President some day. Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, 'If you were President what would be the first thing you would do? '
She replied, 'I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people.'
Her parents beamed.
'Wow...what a worthy goal.' I told her, 'But you don't have to wait until you're President to do that.. You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and rake my yard, and I'll pay you $50.
Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house. '
She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, ' Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?
I said, 'Welcome to the Republican Party.'
Her parents still aren't speaking to me.

Anyways, I have two important news to announce.
First. This weekend only registered users will be able to leave comments. Because the site is just attacked by bots and we had a big amount of spam-comments yesterday.

Talking about news, there’s a bad news for Michael Jackson’s fans. 06.25.2009 he died at his home. You can read the short article about it here. Well, I’m sad… He represented the whole epoch…

It's amazing how time flies. You blink and half of the week is already over. Few more days and it’s the weekend:)
I’m in a great mood today, I wish you the same ;) In any way, it can’t be otherwise on our site: P
What's happening in the world, do you know? I am concerned about the situation in Iran. Peaceful elections have turned into a war.
Many human lives were taken already. And this is very scary. I hope this situation will be settled soon.

Yesterday, the site wasn’t working half an hour for reasons that are beyond us. But everything was handled quickly.
I hope you have not noticed this little problem :)

I thought the red was blood but of course it's from the ink packet hidden inside the bill fold.
When the ink pack exploded the stack of 20s were abandoned on the sidewalk.

Well, here’s a long-awaited end of the working week. Greets with Friday ;))
It’s been a week since we removed the smileys from the site. As we promised we put them back, because, it’s true it’s like something’s missing ;)) BUT, we removed forever and ever the shooting smiley, it was really annoying. We found that comments became more interesting but the smileys can add some emotion etc. Just don’t overuse them ;))
Have a good rest and gain strength for the next week.
And, of course, we are waiting for you here, on IZI )

Hi!
Today is Wednesday, which means a little Friday ;)
Two days before the weekend! )
I have not very good news.
Last week I received 4 letters with complaints that users’ anti-virus (firewalls, Google etc.) alarm about different viruses, Trojans and malwares on our site.
It is not TRUE. Izismile is completely clean of all this dirt. Not a single line of the site’s code contains any virus. I know this for sure.
We spent a lot of time yesterday on checking the site. Nothing at all. It’s clean.
There’s another explanation to it.
A week ago, we started working with a new advertising agency MediaShakers and embedded codes of their banners on the site.
It is those codes that might have contained malware in order to fraud the number of page views for their advertisement.
Personally, neither my antivirus nor firewall alarmed me about the threats that could be caused due to this advertising.
Yesterday, we completely stopped the cooperation with this agency and permanently removed their advertising from the site.
Therefore, I want to apologize to all visitors who were affected with this and had problems with Trojans / malware.
In the future, we will be more careful when checking our partners and this won’t happen again.
I want to ask all of you who had these problems to send me an email and tell me what was the day when it occurred.

I have not very good news.
Last week I received 4 letters with complaints that users’ anti-virus (firewalls, Google etc.) alarm about different viruses, Trojans and malwares on our site.
It is not TRUE. Izismile is completely clean of all this dirt. Not a single line of the site’s code contains any virus. I know this for sure.
We spent a lot of time yesterday on checking the site. Nothing at all. It’s clean.
There’s another explanation to it.
A week ago, we started working with a new advertising agency MediaShakers and embedded codes of their banners on the site.
It is those codes that might have contained malware in order to fraud the number of page views for their advertisement.
Personally, neither my antivirus nor firewall alarmed me about the threats that could be caused due to this advertising.
Yesterday, we completely stopped the cooperation with this agency and permanently removed their advertising from the site.
Therefore, I want to apologize to all visitors who were affected with this and had problems with Trojans / malware.
In the future, we will be more careful when checking our partners and this won’t happen again.
I want to ask all of you who had these problems to send me an email and tell me what was the day when it occurred.
